The Theater City of Industry is a small unincorporated community in the heart of Honolulu, Hawaii. Located on the eastern shore of Oahu, Hawaii Island, the city was developed as a planned community in the late 1940s. The city’s name honors the early Hawaiian settlers who settled here, and was dedicated to the memory of those who came before them.

The City of Industry is comprised of three distinct neighborhoods: West Oahu, East Oahu, and Oahu. The Hawaii theater city is a little bit of an outlier in the region. In most places, theaters are a hub for the arts. In the city of Oahu in particular, it’s not uncommon to see a theater with an orchestra, ballet, or other performing arts group as well as a movie theater. In Hawaii Theater County, you’ll find them all in one spot.

The Hawaii Theater County is the name of the municipality that will be the main city for this region of the Hawaiian Islands. Most of the islands are part of the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, so they’re a great place to explore.

It’s great to see the developers here getting to be such a good community. I know we’re all curious about the future of the theater business in the Islands, and it looks like there are three or four theater chains that have popped up here in the past couple of years. Maybe it will eventually take off here. I have to admit, I was pretty bummed to see all the theaters closing down so soon in the early ’90s.
