Like I said, you’re in the middle of nowhere, but that does not have to stop you.
The problem is that a lot of our young entrepreneurs in the lighting industry have not gone the whole, “I make my own money, and sell it to people in the middle of nowhere, and it doesn’t have to be this way,” approach. They are making their own money, they are selling it, and they do it in the way that works best for them. But they have no idea how to actually make it work.
But that doesnt make it any less important, and as we all know, entrepreneurs make mistakes. And at the end of the day, we need to find a way to make money. So what would you do in a situation where you only had a few hundred dollars to start making money? Of course, you would start selling your designs to lighting designers. And I mean, really, really, really.
And then you would sell to lighting designers, and then to lighting designers, and then you would eventually find yourself making a living selling design services. The problem is, that’s the one area where most of us don’t have great designs (that is, in our minds) to sell. Designers are looking for a good price, so they end up finding a designer that has design knowledge, and that designer sells to lighting designers.
This is exactly the same situation that most designers are in. The only difference is that while designers are looking for designs that are high-end, they dont have to worry about the fact that if they dont sell them, they will never sell a design. Whereas we are selling our designs to lighting designers, and then lighting designers, and then we have them as our main customer.
Lighting design is a lucrative industry in the US. For lighting designers, it is a good way to earn a living (and perhaps a bit of notoriety) as well as a way to get your name out there.
