Hardwood flooring is becoming more popular in the residential market and it’s not hard to see why. It’s a great product and you can’t get a better surface to walk around on and keep your property looking so good.
My husband and I purchased a new house with a solid hardwood floor. It was a great investment because it was both economical and luxurious. However, I recently discovered it was harder to take care of than I thought. Like many hardwood floors, it is susceptible to a lot of wear and tear, mostly because it is so porous. It is also extremely vulnerable to moisture and dust as it is not protected from the elements.
I’ve been dealing with this issue for quite a while now, and it’s one of the first things I look for when buying a new, high-end home. That’s why I wanted to find out how to get a new hardwood floor to last longer than a couple years without it losing all the shine and shine of its previous life.
The first thing you need is a good sealer that will protect your floors from water, oils, and other harmful agents. I use a poly-fiber sealer that is made to be used with a floor stain and the floor is then sealed with a varnish. I then use a good floor sand, which is an abrasive substance that will be used to remove all the dirt and grime from the floor.
I have a friend who makes all his floors from pallet hardwood. The most time-consuming part of getting a new floor is finding a pallet that is both cheap and easy to work with. A good rule of thumb is to use a pallet that is two or three years old.
When picking out a floor, there is a lot of different types of hardwoods to consider. Hardwood flooring is made from two things: hardwood trees and the wooden shingles that line the wood. Hardwood flooring is typically made from one of two types of trees: cherry and oak. Cherry trees have a hardwood layer on top of the bark. This hardwood layer is what makes it smooth and uniform.
Cherry, as its name suggests, is a hardwood tree. Oak, on the other hand, is a hardwood tree. The two are completely different, and they are only different in the fact that oak is usually found in the Southern states (i.e., the South) while cherry is found in the North.
Cherry and oak have two very different qualities. Cherry is light, and it’s often quite soft. Oak, on the other hand, has a strong, hard, sharp smell. That means that you’ll have to keep your feet pretty dry in order to get the best quality.
Not only is cherry hardwood, but it’s also quite water resistant. The reason for this is that it’s a hardwood called ‘pallet’ which is very dense. The grain runs parallel, and it’s very fine. Oak is a hardwood, but it’s not so dense. This is why it can handle heavy moisture.
If you’ve never heard of pallet hardwood flooring, I’d urge you to make an appointment with a local home improvement store. Its called “pallet” because it’s made from a lot of small pieces of wood. Since you’re dealing with pieces of wood, you need to apply a sealer to them before you glue them to your floor. This way, the wood keeps the moisture away from the joints and the floor is not compromised.
