For example, the average MRI machine cost over $200,000, and the ultrasound machine costs over $500,000. There are other reasons too such as the fact that ultrasound machines are becoming more portable.
This is a big one. I wrote a piece a while back saying that ultrasound machines are becoming more portable to a degree that you can take them into the bathroom and use them on your own body without having to use an MRI machine that costs an arm and a leg. They’re much more convenient of course because you don’t need to wait for the machine to come out of your body, and this is especially important in the context of surgery.
